As Groucho Marx said "If you're not having fun, then you're doing something wrong"
I love photography! I’ve enjoyed taking photos from my first Polaroid instamatic camera to film SLR’s and then to digital point and shoot cameras for backpacking in the Sierras. But it wasn’t till I purchased my first DSLR in 2007 that I became serious about making a photo vs. taking a snapshot. There was a long learning curve with more failures than successes but that has since changed. My photos have now been utilized by businesses as well as being posted on several photography websites where they have won numerous awards.
It takes a skilled photographer to capture the essence of an individual or the relationship between a couple or family. These images create a personal attachment or an emotional response which I strive to achieve with every photo shoot. Typically when photographing children not every shot taken will convey the “perfect happy smile” although I will capture those images, but I also enjoy taking the photos that show what it took to get there as those are the ones the parents like most for some good natured teasing when the child gets older.
I’m equally at home photographing outdoors on location with natural light or indoors using lights to make the best images possible of you.
I live in Grass Valley, CA with my wife and two stray cats, Tux and Gray Kitty, that have adopted us.
